幼児期から発達の段階に応じた地震、火災に関する自分や周りの人の身を守るための教育や応急手当などの普及のほか、日常生活における事故を防ぐための教育を行っています。
The TFD flexibly gives life safety education to each age group with their possible capabilities in view. Starting with preschoolers, we teach how to protect oneself and others from earthquakes and fires, how to conduct first aid, and also how to prevent daily life accidents.
都民のみなさまに安心・安全なくらしをしていただけるよう、火災予防運動などの各種行事を通じ、防火防災知識・消防施策などをわかりやすく伝える広報に努めています。
Various events and press conferences are held to familiarize the public with fire safety, disaster preparedness, and the fire department policies.

Fire Station Chief for the Day by Celebrities
火災予防運動の時期に合わせ、著名人の方に一日消防署長を依頼し、都民のみなさまに火災予防を呼びかけます。
A "public figure" is invited to act as Fire Station Chief for the Day to call citizens’ attention to fire safety.

Fire Station Visits
消防の仕事を実際に見学、体験することにより、消防への理解と関心を深めていただくことを目的に実施しています。
We offer residents the opportunities to see and experience the fire department work.

Fire Truck Sketch Contest
小・中学生を対象に、消防の仕事への関心を深め、防火防災意識を育成・向上することを目的として実施しています。
It is planned for elementary pupils and junior high school students to raise their interest in fire service and fire safety.
［ 消防音楽隊・カラーガーズ隊 ］
The TFD Band & Color Guard
演奏・演技を通じて都民のみなさまに防火防災を呼びかけます。都民と消防のふれあいコンサート、金曜コンサートなど定期演奏のほか、地域イベントなどでも要請に応じ演奏を行っています。
With vivid performances they send fire safety messages to the public at regular concerts and various local events on request.

Press Announcement
災害による被害や消防隊の活動状況、災害予防のための各種施策や行事などの内容について、広く都民のみなさまにお知らせするため、報道機関への情報提供を行っています。
Press announcements are held to release to the public the information on disasters, on-scene activities, our new public safety policies and events.

学習施設「消防博物館」Fire Museum
江戸時代から現代までの消防の歴史や資料を展示しています。
東京の安心と安全を進める消防が“ まるごとわかる” 消防の広報・教育施設として、楽しみながら消防への理解を深めることができます。
The Fire Museum exhibits historical documents and materials on the fire services from the Edo period till today.
Visitors can grasp the overall picture of the fire service of Tokyo through their enjoyable tour.

体験施設「防災館」Life Safety Learning Centers “Bosai-kan”
防火防災に関する知識、技術、行動力を高めるための防災体験施設です。シミュレーションによる地震の揺れや訓練用人形を使った応急手当要領などの体験ができます。
防災館は、池袋、本所、立川の３か所にあります。
In Bosai-kan, visitors can learn how to protect themselves against emergencies through first-hand experiences, simulated earthquakes or first-aid practice with a CPR dummy.
Bosai-kan are located in Ikebukuro, Honjo and Tachikawa.

消防技術者の育成Fire Engineer Education
防火管理者、防災管理者、危険物取扱者等の消防技術者を育成するために、各種試験や講習を外部機関と連携して実施しています。
The TFD entrusts outside bodies with examinations and training for fire protection managers, disaster protection managers, and hazardous materials engineers.
