都民生活の安全を守るため、次のような対策を推進しています。 The TFD promotes the following for public life safety. 防火防災知識・行動力の向上 Familiarizing residents with disaster knowledge and improve their response capabilities against emergencies 幼児期から社会人までの体系的な総合防災教育の推進 Promotion of lifelong disaster education from infants to older adults 住宅の防火安全・事業所の防火安全 ・ 放火火災の予防 Promotion of fire safety in homes and workplaces including arson prevention 住宅用火災警報器の設置促進 Promotion of the installation of residential fire alarms 防炎品の普及促進 Promotion of the use of fire-retardant products 家具類の転倒・落下・移動防止措置の実施促進 Promotion of measures to secure furniture against earthquakes 地域協力体制（消防のふれあいネットワーク）づくりの推進 Development of local cooperation networks such as “Helping Hand Networks” 緊急通報システム（ペンダント式）・火災安全システム（一人暮らし高齢者の方などからの火災信号の発信・受信）等の普及促進 Promotion of the emergency alarm systems for senior citizens, such as pendant-type transmitters and the automatic fire reporting system 都民生活において生ずる事故の防止 Prevention of citizens' unintentional injuries 救急車のマナーある利用の促進（救急車は緊急性のある場合に利用する） “For emergency only” use of ambulance services by citizens 災害時要援護者を対象とする安全対策の推進 Promotion of safety measures for elderly and disabled residents

　幼児期から各年代に応じた地震、火災に関する知識や初期消火、応急手当要領などの普及のほか、子どもの日常生活における事故を防ぐための知識の普及を行っています。

  Beginning in nursery school and continuing its efforts up to adult citizens, the TFD personnel teach all age groups how to prepare for earthquakes and fires, and when appropriate, how to conduct initial firefighting and first aid. Children are also taught on how to prevent injuries in their daily lives.

　　都民のみなさまに安心・安全なくらしをしていただけるよう、火災予防運動などの各種行事を通じ、防火防災知識・消防施策などをわかりやすく伝える広報に努めています。

  Various events and press conferences are held to familiarize the public with fire safety, disaster preparedness, and the fire department policies.

― 著名人による一日消防署長 ― Fire Station Chief for the Day by Celebrities 　火災予防運動の時期に合わせ、著名人の方に一日消防署長を依頼し、都民のみなさまに火災予防を呼びかけます。   A public figure is invited to become Fire Station Chief for the Day to call citizens' attention to fire safety.	― 消防署見学・消防体験 ― Fire Station Visits 　消防の仕事を実際に見学、体験することにより、消防への理解と関心を深めていただくことを目的に実施しています。   We offer residents opportunities to see and experience firefighters' work.	― はたらく消防の写生会 ― Fire Truck Sketch Contest 　小・中学生を対象に、消防の仕事への関心を深め、防火防災意識を育成 ・ 向上することを目的として実施しています。   It is planned for elementary and junior high school students to arouse their interest in fire service and fire safety.
― 消防音楽隊・カラーガーズ隊 ― The TFD Band & Color Guard 　演奏・演技を通じて都民のみなさまに防火防災を呼びかけます。 都民と消防のふれあいコンサート、 金曜コンサートなど定期演奏のほか、地域イベントなどでも要請に応じ演奏を行っています。   With vivid performances they send fire safety messages to the public at regular concerts and various local events on request.	― 報道発表 ― Press Announcement 　災害による被害や消防隊の活動状況、災害予防のための各種施策や行事などの内容について、広く都民のみなさまにお知らせするため、報道機関への情報提供を行っています。   Press announcements are held to release to the publ ic the information on disasters, on-scene activities, our new public safety policies and events.	東京消防庁ホームページ TFD Website http://www.tfd.metro.tokyo.jp 　インターネット上で、災害情報や救急病院案内、生活に密着した安心・安全のための情報などを提供しています。   Information on disasters, hospitals and tips on daily safety is available on the Internet.
