Rescue Techniques Training Course

Tokyo Fire Department

The Tokyo Fire Department (TFD) conducts the Rescue Techniques Training Course for the cities participating in the Crisis Management Network by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The course consists of the following two phases.

Phase 1: Training in Tokyo

The TFD decides on the participant city and accepts its fire personnel as rescue trainees. The trainees are expected to instruct the rescue techniques acquired through the training in Tokyo, upon their return home. The TFD members will be instructors, giving a training program to the trainees. Phase 2: Training in the Participant City

Following the Phase 1, the trainees will return to their fire department and hold a rescue techniques training course. This time, the trainees of the Phase 1 will be the instructors to give a training program. The TFD will send its members to the participant city to observe and assist them.
